Beginner's class

On-going tuition?
After the induction course, people usually ask to join the school. They start in the beginner's class.

Beginner's class
The beginner's class studies qigong, biomechanics and motor skills. These provide the necessary foundation for ongoing practice.

Qigong group
Everyone who joins our school works through a selection of qigong exercises designed to strengthen the body and increase fitness.

Lessons are for learning
People usually find the beginner's class to be stimulating, educational and fun. There are many anatomical considerations to explore, so there's a lot to investigate.

Challenging
Learning the basic exercises is enjoyable and varied, but it is also quite challenging. We make sure that every lesson contains a significant workout for beginners.

Why don't we offer tai chi to beginners?

Eye/hand coordination, motor skills, posture, poise, gait and alignment in the average UK adult is poor. Jumping straight into tai chi form and complex partner work is too ambitious. Training the qigong exercises will be challenging enough.

Prior experience?
Some people have studied qigong or tai chi before. This is fine. They should be accustomed to learning and find it easy to do. Everyone starts from the beginning, regardless of prior experience.

Pay-as-you-go?
We do not offer drop-in classes/pay-as-you-go.
