Whole-body strength

A different way
Tai chi requires the student to move the body in an unusual manner. This is called 'neigong'.

Common misconception
Many exponents never study neigong and do the art as though it were yoga, dance or karate.

Full strength
When performed correctly, tai chi employs whole-body strength.

Network
Neigong aims to unite the separate parts of the body so that they can function as one congruent, connected, loose network of power.

Ergonomic

Neigong is more economical than how you normally move.

Power generation
Power should feel to come from the entire body - not just an isolated limb.

Connected

There is no sense of which muscles are producing the power.
