Lesson format

Upon arrival
Everyone performs standing qigong until the lesson begins. This serves to calm the emotions, settle the mind and relax the body. 

7:00 PM 
Rachel explores back stretching exercises and leg stretches. Most people have extremely tense legs from sitting too much. 

7:30 PM

Rachel or a teaching assistant revise all of the basic qigong sets.
It is a follow-the-leader format.

8:00 PM

The final half hour is about motor skills, biomechanics, everyday body use and partnering with other students. We  adopt a scientific approach; experimenting with alignment, structure, stance, relaxation and strength.

Cool down
Students are invited to participate in guided relaxation. This settles the body and encourages rest before the lesson finishes.

Corrections
People will receive individual corrections throughout the night, as required.


2 breaks
This is a chance to drink some water and get to know the other students a little.
