Induction course FAQs

When is the next induction course?
Monday 6th July.

What time should you arrive for the induction course?
6:45 PM onwards.

How old do you need to be?
The minimum age is 18. 

Can you pay by card/online
?
Please pay in cash.

An exercise class
You will be on your feet and working out for approximately 90 minutes. Tai chi may be mild but it is still a workout.

Hydration
Please remember to bring water.

What should you wear?
Loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Barefoot isn't suitable.  

Does tai chi involve physical contact?
Yes it does.

What will you explore?
The 2-week induction course introduces basic qigong exercises and concepts along with biomechanics, motor skills and partner work.

Is tai chi suitable for me?
You don't need to be fit to start tai chi classes. But you do need to be able to stand up, walk and step without the aid of a stick.

Medical concerns?
If you have any medical questions, your doctor is the person to speak with.

Parking
There is a car park outside the hall and along the adjacent streets.

Instruction
We have 2 x tai chi instructors on a Monday night and 2 x teaching assistants.

On-going tuition?

After the induction course, people usually ask to join the school. They start in the beginner's class.
